MapBiomas Uruguay is an annual land cover and land use monitoring initiative in order to understand the transformation processes occurring in temperate and subtropical grasslands of Uruguay. It operates within a collaborative network that also includes this ecosystem in the Southern region of Brazil and the central western of Argentina. Governmental, academic, and research institutions from Uruguay actively participate in this initiative.
